While their veterancy does make them much stronger, I've found that you can still apply decent pressure with them even if your squads wipe and you need to use fresh non vet units. Their support weapons have 6 in a squad which is the largest you can possess as well. Their infantry are cheap and come in the largest numbers amongst all factions. Soviets are great if you're new simply because unlike other factions, you can afford to make mistakes. Mgs with Tommys, Defense emplacements with superior tanks late game. If you can show me where you found the current meta and actual tactic for every faction ( cant find anything about the lastest patch ) I agree with Shodan. They play somewhat similarly to the wehr. A really rts hard as hell, i know if you are good you can play everything but i just want to concentrate on 2 faction ( 1 axis and 1 allies and theyr corresponding commander ). I would recommend wehr over OKW for beginners because of how okw defensive based units are not as reliable as the wehr and their units are abit reliant on vet and conservation of squads. Almost all their tanks are more reliable when shooting when stationary. Their AT gun has one of the best AP with ultra long range in comparison to the OKW counter part. Or how their grenadiers are more effective in cover, long range. For instance, their ultra effective Mgs have a wide arc of suppresion but take a long time to set up thus making it harder to use aggresively. Wehr units are particularly more effective in defense. The axis are often better late game due to their superior tanks and stronger vet. New players tend to be more defensive and reliant on late game.
